Dave Murray (Captain):
Hello, I'm Captain Dave Murray, Please find below some of the members of my crew. We will be adding the rest of them shortly. Although some people say that it is me that has done the Glaciere project, I can honestly tell you that without these people who have volunteered their time, expertise and devotion, The Glaciere would not be where it is today.
Mark Whitehead:
Mark has been on the project now for over 12 months. He is one of our volunteers who attends the boat virtually every day of the week. During his time on board, he achieved PADI Open water diver, Advanced Diver, Rescue Diver, Divemaster, Assistant Dive Instructor and now a fully qualified PADI Dive Instructor. Mark also completed his day skipper theory, VHF Radio Operator, Sea Survival RYA First Aid, Power Boat Level 2 and has an ambition to become a British yacht master  and hopefully become the captain of the Glaciere of Liverpool.
Steph Whitehead:
Steph is one of our younger crew members, who is studying oceonography at Bangor University. Also, in the last 12 months since joining us, became a PADI Open Water Advanced Diver. She has also learned how to helm the Glaciere. She is literally moored the Glaciere alongside at Glasgow, Belfast, I.O.M and on our last trip out, even took the wheel to bring us back into the Albert Dock, one of Liverpool's hardest locks to enter. It is not to helm an 82 ton of oak with a mind of it's own, but Steph certainly has the guts and the enthusiasm to make the Glaciere go exactly where she wants it to go. We are very hopeful over the next few years, you will see steph more and more take over the wheel of the Glaciere.
Rob Walker:
Rob has been involved with the project since the Glaciere came into the Albert Dock in April 2004. He is one of the original Friends of The Glaciere. His initial involvement was working with the project as a mentor and Diving instructor. He now concentrates on Sailing. During his time with the project he has sailed over 3500 miles aboard Glaciere as a crew member and as Skipper.
He is now a Yachtmaster Instructor, teaching both theory and practical Sailing as well as a Power Boat Level 2 Instructor and has over 24,000 miles experience of sailing and power boats.

James Morgan:
James has been around the Glaciere now since he was 12 years of age. His dad came and completed a day skipper course and that was when James got the bug for sailing. James is now a dinghy sailing instructor and has won many junior race events. James is now 18 and has been serving some time as first mate with Glaciere and is looking for a full time position on a charter boat, preferably in the Caribbean. Just think your rope work can look like this. To find out more about James call Captain Dave.
Leonard Fearnley (Laid back Len):
Len has been around Glaciere right from the very start. He has done most of the painting and sign writing and has been involved a lot in the decisions. A great man to be around. Always got a smile and always there to help someone. Len has always been a personal friend of Capt. Dave since 1981
Clive (Topsy) Toner:
Topsy plays mandola, mandolin and banjo in folk band Arish Mell, so there is always the chance for music and singing aboard, especially fun at the maritime festivals. He joined the Royal Navy in 1961 and discharged as a Chief Petty Officer in 1986. During that period Topsy completed the 1977/78 Whitbread Round the World Yacht Race and the Fastnet Races in HMSTY RACER and CONDOR of BERMUDA. After leaving the Royal Navy Topsy owned and skippered a sea angling and diving vessel, working out of Weymouth. Following that, he joined the Training Vessel ‘Astrid’ as Chief Officer, and subsequently Master. In 1997, Topsy became Master of 'Julia Af Faaborg' and sailing vessel 'Grand Turk' for the TV film series 'Hornblower', and then Master of sailing vessels 'Phoenix', 'Earl of Pembroke', and 'Silvery Light', in the following year. Topsy is currently restoring a 50' 1964 French Trawler to cruise and live aboard.
Can you believe Steph & Mark are now married. Now Mr & Mrs Whitehead.
Dave Grant
Dave Grant:
He is one of our mature crew members who has been on the project right from the start. Dave has been one of our most loyal volunteers, who without the project would not have been the same. I give great thanks to Dave and hope that he stays with the project for the next 30 years.
