The Caernarfon harbour site contains useful information including the latest positions of the buoys on the bar - so one less excuse for not going into the straits this way.

Liverpool Yacht Club The local club in GMC's home port. Keelboat sailing on the Mersey straight from the city centre all year round.

Norfolk Boat The Norfolk Boat offer funds to young people from all walks of life to help them afford to sail on any sea going boats run by approved sail training organisations, including the Ocean Youth Trust.

ASTO - The Association of Sea Training Organisations - is an "umbrella" association which exists to represent the major sail training schemes in Great Britain.

Dave Beavan, an OYT skipper and expert gaffer, is running sailkenya which offers unique holidays in Kenya aboard a traditional swahili dhow. The company aims to work in an ethical way and by using a local dhow and a local skipper, your money is spent in the local economy, not on imported goods and labour. Secondly, by exploiting the reef for tourism, sailkenya compensate for the loss of fishing rights and help to conserve the unique marine biodiversity of the Kenyan coast.

North West Venturers Yacht Club is a cruising club active over much of the Irish sea and based in the Menai Straits. They produce the definitive pilot to the N. Wales and Anglesey coast and their site contains some good links of its own.
